What else inspires me...my daughters, who grew up to be beautiful, generous, kindhearted, intelligent, and caring women. Each day I'm thankful I've been blessed with such wonderful children.
Of course, my grandchildren inspire me. Ari and Madison are beautiful gifts with their wide-eyed innocence and thirst for knowledge that gives me a chance to teach another generation about family and tradition.
My husband inspires me everyday. His commitment to our family, his patience with a house full of women, and his love has made the last 42 years truly memorable.
I would love to know what inspires you...and, of course, by posting, you're entered to win this apron in colors marking a close of another season.
Honestly, Susan, you inspire me. I have been reading your blog since you told me of it. You are and have always been incredibly beautiful and strong. I miss having tea with you and being your assistant baker. My thoughts are with you everyday.
ReplyDeleteThank you Liz. If truth be told, you inspire me with your love for adventure! I miss baking with you too; are you still making jam? Love you xoxo
ReplyDeletelife all around me is what i find inspiring. colors, textures, trees, breezes, children.
ReplyDeletelove the apron!
I am inspired by my mother - her love and strength guide me each day even though I lost her to cancer many years ago. My sister inspires me – she nursed her husband through several years of cancer and multiple surgeries before losing him in his early 50s. Meanwhile she held down a full time job and raised their teenage son. Two years later she is starting to recover and make a new life for herself. I am so proud of her. My husband inspires me - he centers my universe and his love is my rock. Our four sons inspire me - they are so very different in many ways, yet all four are generous and compassionate men. My DIL inspires me - she is a fabulous cook, baker and crafter at a time when many young women can't boil water. I am inspired by strong, talented, creative women like you and Ellen - women who encourage me to be more, to do more. Thank you for sharing your stories and your fabulous recipes.
ReplyDeleteMaryps~I love your inspirations and have to add my mother also inspired me; not just with baking, but in raising 8 children, most times on her own while my Dad was on sea duty in the Navy. She passed away at the age of 67 of a brain tumor and there isn't a day goes by that I don't think about her. My sister, Barbara inspires me with her knitting and I hope to complete my first pair of socks because of her patience in teaching me.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there's all the breast cancer survivors, as well as, like Kelly those young women who lost the battle, that inspired me to see a cure in my lifetime.
My inspiration with this blog is from all the women I have connected with and shared my stories. Kelly knew this would be important and made me promise that I would continue.
I think our greatest achievements and inspirations are found in sharing; reaching out and being a part of humanity in a peaceful, creative manner. Love to all, xoxo
Susan, I just love your blog! Thanks for all the effort that you put into it. I have to say that I am also inspired by my mother, who chose to stay home and take care of us three. What a sacrifice. It moves me beyond words to think of someone who gives and gives with all the love in their heart.
ReplyDeleteDear Susan,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to your inspiring family! It is lovely to see a photo of your husband here too. My inspiration looks much the same as yours, my loving husband and three children inspire me deeply. As you know Kelly was and continues to be an inspiration in my life, the way I look at each moment with my family. Love you xoxo
I'm new to your blog, and I must say that it inspires me! I know where I am going to look next time I need to bring a dessert to a get-together! Your recipes and pics look scrumptious.... I bookmarked it so I can check back regularly.

Susan, like everyone else said, you inspire me to be a better mother and cook. All your recipes and stories inspire me to make things and delicious meals for the people I love. I am also inspired by my husband because he is full of patience and love for everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by the world around me - my animals, the warm breezes, the changing light of the sky. I am inspired by my family; my strong husband, my beautiful teenage boys. I am inspired by my mother - she taught me to be the woman I am today, if only she were here to see it.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I found Kelly's blog through a friend's blog and that led me to you. I was so touched by Kelly's story. I lost my brother 26 years ago and I still have such an ache in my heart for him. You so inspire me with your love for family, friends, and even strangers. Your blog is a comfort to me. I love your recipes and the stories to go along with them. What a talented woman you are!
