February is a short month and I didn't want anymore time to slip away before I put up the apron I've made for the Give-Away. I guess I could have found red fabric, but these Dahlias just spoke to me in honor of my Grandma Gladys.
She grew prize-winning Dahlias and had a garden of these on the other side of the garage. It's a tuberous plant related to the sunflower, chrysanthemum, daisy, and zinnia. Her's were beautiful and the summer after she passed away, they never came up again; my mother would say, Grandma took them with her to the Garden Club in Heaven!
I've grown Dahlias, but none so beautiful as her varieties, and I've created them in paper to keep long-lasting memories of time spent in her garden.
Just comment on any of the posts this month and you will be eligible for the drawing at the end of the month!
Next, I want to share the progress of our home, which thanks to KariAnn at Thistlewood Farms, I was able to create a "watercolor" with the new App she posted about today--Waterlogue!
The front door is in and all the windows...and everything is framed inside. I actually got to walk inside last Friday with the builder to tweak a few things. Tomorrow, I go to pin-point the plumbing:-D It gets more exciting every day as the progress continues.
My apologies for not baking...but the apron could not wait! Enjoy!
