YES VIRGINIA...there is a December Give-Away!

I feel like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland..."I'm late for a very important date..." in posting this month's Give Away apron, but somehow it's done and one more thing checked off my list (of about a hundred!)

I can't even count how many Christmas Eve's I've stayed up all night finishing sewing projects, wrapping presents or baking.  The television (in the early years) would have all the old movies on--A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim, Jack Warner and Kathleen Harrison and my all time favorite, It's A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed while I frantically tried to get everything done; now I watch them on DVD.  I feel this Christmas Eve will be no different.  My mother said to me once, "The hurrier you go, the behinder you get!" and that is oh so true, but I came across this verse that I find calming and I hope you do too while you're scrambling to get everything done.

It is never too late to be happy;
It is never too late to smile;
It is never too late to extend a hand;
With a cheering word once in a while.
For there's never a sorrow or worry
In all this green-covered earth
But is followed soon by a gladsome joy
And a generous measure of mirth.

If you find your way to my blog and post, your name will be entered to win this apron, sewn with love and from my heart.  Happy Holidays. XOXO

  1. Susan, I found your blog after we met a few weeks ago. What a treat! I tried the peanut butter cookie cups...they were amaazing. The 6 doz disappeared in less than 24 hours. My daughter took some to her boyfriend and my husband took some to work and my twins devoured the rest. Thanks so much for the voice mail. I hope our paths cross again! Teresa

  2. What gorgeous material! I'm with your mom on the "hurrier I go the behinder I get". I am RIGHT THERE...but having trouble springing into Christmas. I've done a lot in the kitchen, but have nothing to show for it beyond memories. I demonstrated cookie decorating (lots of effort to prep) but no cookies at home. I made Christmas Chex Mix - but my husband ate it all this week-end...I've made the cake and crumbled it for cake balls, I've made sugar cookie dough, but haven't rolled it, I made some Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies today - I blogged it and find that all my Christmas decor is still in storage so I haven't taken the photos for the blog post. Big sigh! I love the poem. I'm going to print it and put it on my fridge to ensure I read it repeatedly this season. For now, gotta go..."I'm late, I'm late..."
    Anyway, enter my name - would love that apron!

  3. Another beautiful apron Susan! I don't know how you do all you do!
    Who eats all of those wonderful things you bake all the time?

  4. Another lovely apron! Beautiful fabric choices... love the trees!
    Every year I think I will be more prepared, more organized, more on top of things. Hasn't happened yet. I have not started anything to speak of. My tree is up with lights but not a single ornament. My baking is not started yet.
    I went to my Mom's for a visit last week on my vacation from work, so here I sit unprepared as usual. What I have learned is that whatever gets done is what gets done. :)
    Happiest of Holidays to you and all your blog readers!

  5. Susan,
    You continue to amaze me with your creativity.
    That apron is beautiful! I am not entering, as I already have one of your beautiful creations. I just had to say wow.

  6. I have to agree....a beautiful apron. take a deep breath, sit down, have a cup of tea then get up and start all over again. that's what I do.
